Turmeric, safron, Curcuma longa or Kunyit is one of original spices and medicinal plants of Indonesia. It is native to tropical southeast asia especially Indonesian Country and need temperature between 20 degrees and 30 degrees and considerable amount of annual rainfall to thrive. Plants are gathered annually for their rhizhomes, and propagated from some of those rhizomes in the following season. The plant spreads in the islands of Indonesia. Almost everyone in Indonesia, generally have to consume this herb plants, either as a complementary seasoning or to maintain health and beauty. Turmeric is classified in the ginger group, zingiberaceae. Turmeric is known in various regions with few local names, such as turmeric in English, 
kunyit in generally in Indonesia or Melayu, Kunir in Java.


Turmeric is spices that is commonly used in the disease in Indonesia country. Turmeric is often used as spice in cooking curries, and is also used to give yellow color to the dish, or preservative. In Indonesia, turmeric or safron is one of the common ingredients of medicinal herbs. Pharmaceutical product made from turmeric are able to compete with a variety of patent medicines, for example inflammatory arthritis, piroxicam, and phenyl butason or dietary supplements in capsule form.
Products of turmeric extract in the form of a food supplement in capsule  form (vitamin supplements)  has developed the market and industry. Dietary supplements are made from raw materials turmeric extract with additives of  B Complete vitamin, E Vitamin, Lecithin, disintegrator, nepagin, and Colidon.
